Do You Menu Plan?

This article has been viewed 254 times.

What’s for dinner? Do you ask yourself this question many nights? I did until I started to menu plan every week. I now save time and money!!

What is Menu Planning I hear you ask!
All it really means is you plan ahead for your family meals you are going to cook.

I don’t know what the Perfect way is, but I know that I am doing the right way for my family. I plan 1 week in advance only because my kids have different activities each week and I like to plan around them. You can plan 2 week or up to a month in advance, just depending on your family situation.

This is how it works for my busy family…….

1. A Menu Plan saves money. I do a meals menu every weekend for the following week. I use my weekly calendar and list all activities for the week for my family. I then sit down and choose recipes and I organise my shopping list for the ingredients I need. I only buy what is on my shopping list, I don’t buy any extras. Also imagine how much money you will save not buying takeaway!

2. A Menu Plan saves Time. I have everything I need for the week on hand. No dashing to the supermarket for any extras I might want. I know exactly what I need to make on that day.

Sound Simple? Well it is! You just have to make the decision to give it a go, it is so easy. I know find cooking more enjoyable and less stressful. I even get my kids involved in the kitchen and it can be a fun evening of cooking.
